The Opportunity
We're looking for a self-motivated Sales Associate to join our growing team as an independent contractor. In this role, you'll identify prospects, build relationships, and close new business representing 7Tel's full portfolio of communication solutions. This is a commission-only position with no income ceiling and no rigid territory restrictions — you grow it, you earn it.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, believes in the product they're selling, and wants to build a book of recurring revenue that pays them month after month.
What You'll Do
- Prospect and develop relationships with small business owners and decision-makers
- Conduct needs assessments and present tailored communication solutions
- Manage your pipeline and activity in our provided CRM
- Handle inbound and outbound calls using your 7Tel business extension
- Coordinate with our technical team for product demos and customer onboarding handoffs
- Assist technical team with product implementations as needed (on-site phone placement and go-live support, pre and post implementation training)
- Follow up on leads, renewal opportunities, and upsell potential within your accounts
- Represent the 7Tel brand with professionalism and integrity
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated sales experience — any industry considered
- Telephony, VoIP, or technology sales experience is a strong plus
- Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and explain cloud-based systems to non-technical buyers
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Self-directed, organized, and strong with follow-through
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- An existing network in small business communities is a bonus
- Must be eligible to work as a 1099 independent contractor

- Former telecom, ISP, or IT services sales rep
- Insurance, Real Estate, or financial services agent with established SMB relationships
- Experienced inside or outside sales professional looking to build residual income
- IT consultant or VAR looking to add recurring revenue streams

Compensation
This is a 100% commission, 1099 contractor position. There is no base salary or draw.
Commission is earned on:
- One-time service fees — installation, setup, and professional services
- One-time product/equipment purchases
- Monthly recurring subscription revenue (MRR) — ongoing commission on active accounts you've sold
Your book of business is your asset. Every account you close continues to generate residual income as long as that customer remains active.
